The NHL announced Thursday that the Minnesota Wild will host the NHL’s GameCenter Live broadcast from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m.
The Wild will open the broadcast on ESPN, which is part of a deal with ESPN that will also allow the NHL to air its broadcast on NBA TV.
The first game of the broadcast is the Minnesota vs. Boston Bruins on Monday, Feb 2 at 5:30 p.s.m., and the second game is the New York Islanders vs. New Jersey Devils on Wednesday, Feb 7 at 5 a.m..
The third game is Minnesota vs.
“The Blue Jackets will host New Jersey on Monday March 7 at 6 p.a.m, and the fourth game will be the Carolina Hurricanes vs. Florida Panthers on Tuesday, March 10 at 6:30 a.s.”
The Wild announced the game on Thursday, Feb 20, with the team tweeting, “We’re looking forward to making our debut at the GameCenter live this season.
Thank you to all our fans, who are so supportive of our hockey team and our organization.”
The team has made the first official visit to Barclays Center for the broadcast, with a home-and-home series with the Boston Bruins and a home opener with the New Jersey Islanders.
The GameCenter event will feature more than 200 guests and is expected to generate up to $100 million in revenue for the New Brunswick-based company.
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment in the NHL, as the league is preparing to open its newest broadcast partners in New York and Brooklyn.
The New York Rangers are scheduled to host the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night at 5.45 p.p.m ET.
The New York Jets will host their first preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday at 5 P.m.; the Buffalo Sabres will host Tampa Bay at 5; and the Montreal Canadiens will host Boston at 6.
The Islanders, who play at the Barclays Center on Saturday, Feb 10, have also begun preparations for the GameCenters broadcast.
The NHL will also televise the Minnesota-based Wild’s game against Boston at Barclays Center, which will take place at 5 on Monday night at 4 p.c.
