CNN (CNN)It is the dawn of a new era for cosmetics, and the beauty industry is no exception.
The cosmetics industry, which accounts for $2 trillion in sales annually, has seen a significant shift toward a more cruelty-friendly brand approach.
It was only a matter of time until this trend caught on, says Angela Bier, a professor of marketing at the University of Southern California and co-author of the new book, Cosmetics for the Holidays: A Guide for All.
The new look of cosmetics is a result of the transition from mass production to mass consumption, she said.
Bier says it’s not just about the cosmetic ingredients, it’s about the way the cosmetics are packaged, packaged in the way that consumers feel comfortable using them.
“The beauty industry was never intended to be this kind of environment,” Bier said.
“You’re never going to get consumers to wear all of these different products.”
The key is getting consumers to understand that it’s a choice to wear them, she says.
Bier believes that consumers are more open to a more environmentally conscious approach to cosmetics.

She believes this is a shift that could be positive for the industry.
According to the World Health Organization, the cosmetics industry contributes to climate change by destroying natural ecosystems and polluting waterways, oceans and farmland.
In fact, the American Beauty Council, a trade group representing beauty professionals, says that about half of the U.S. beauty market is made up of products from overseas.
The cosmetic industry has a number of ethical requirements, such as using natural ingredients in the formulation, and maintaining a zero-toxic work environment.
Cosmetics companies also have to adhere to an ethical code of conduct, which requires that they do not conduct experiments on animals.
It’s important to note that these guidelines don’t apply to all cosmetics, but it is very common to find them in most, if not all, products, Bier says.
The cosmetics industry is taking steps to better understand how consumers perceive cosmetics, Biers said.
Biers says she hopes that cosmetics companies will be able to provide a more compassionate approach to the cosmetics market and help consumers make a more informed choice about their purchases.
Bier said that she believes there are a number ways that the cosmetics sector can help promote and promote the health of its consumers.
For example, cosmetics companies should create more beauty brands and not just mass produce products, she added.
